Government Is The Problem pt. 1

Aug 4th, 2009 by Keith

Every election cycle the media and the politicians try really hard to get America’s youth out to the polls, yet they never seem to flock to the voting booth. Some years they turn out maybe a few percent better than the last one, and others it is a little worse. What is really keeping the youth from voting? Some pundits say that voter 18-25 are too busy partying and being self indulgent, while others say that this demographic just isn’t interested. I say that those people who say that they find it not interesting: YOU ARE CORRECT! There is a reason that young voters are not voting, and it is because they are turned off, they are turned off by the lies and the taxes on their small wages that make it difficult to advance themselves.

People in the 18-25 range are naturally rebellious and more willing to take risks and the government pushes them away by never reducing laws but constantly add them. So when you have an election cycle when you have two candidates who are saying virtually nothing (which in return makes them saying the same thing), how do you expect a person who is 20 to be really turned on by that?!?!

The only way to get a high turn out by people 18-25 is to simply offer a reduction of the “nanny state”. Reduction of government and less government intervention in everyday life, let them keep majority of their paychecks and give incentive for being productive, then you will find out that more and more youth will want to vote, and will probably add a spark to our economy.

But what do I know? I’m just a 20 year old myself….

Thanks!
