President Clinton in North Korea

Clinton in N. Korea

President Clinton arrived in North Korea’s capital Pyongyang today 8/4/09 to negotiate the release of two captured American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee. Ling and Lee are journalists for Al Gore’s new news channel called Current TV. They were around the border of China and North Korea when they were captured. North Korea claimed they were crossing borders and were captured then sentenced to 12 years hard labor in one of N. Korea’s “gulag” prisons.

The importance of this is that these women have been detained since March and there is finally someone going there and fighting for these girl’s freedom.

    He is just trying to be like Carter when Carter went over there during Clinton’s Presidency.
